I love Newfoundland, not only for the scenery, which is gobsmackingly beautiful, but also for the people you find here.
The other evening it was beautiful and warm. This may be one of the few things of which I am not particularly fond in this marvelous place; the weather. It was 20ºC (which is about 68ºF for those of you affiliated with the Imperial Forces); a highly unusual temperature for anytime in April (or even May) here. Spring doesn’t typically feel warm or sunny, but more often cold and wet.
In any event, it was warm, we were hungry and so we had a picnic up on Signal Hill.
It was a beautiful evening. Such a nice time, in fact, that I forgot to take pictures.
On the way down the hill, we passed an unusual sight.
Unicyclists aren’t all that uncommon around here. If you live here and frequent the downtown at all, you’re bound to spot one or two. If you go anywhere near the prime busking areas, you’ll see folks on unicycles doing things like juggling.
It is, however, somewhat uncommon to spot one cycling down Signal Hill while playing the guitar. It’s quite the slope in that area (ranging from 15% to 20%).
