Raisin’ the roof
Finding someone willing and able to put a good roof on an old house in the middle of nowhere can be a real challenge.
Fortunately, Exploits has several skilled contractors able to handle such jobs and we were lucky enough to convince Dirk Muir to give us a hand. With a new roof, new paint job, and next year some new clapboard on one side, a new prefab chimney, and (if I’m really lucky) a new wharf, deck and staircase, this lovely old house will be all set. Of course there will always be things to do, but I’m looking forward to having the big ones under control. (Well, most of the big ones. The rear sill really needs a little TLC, too.)
